Instant analysis of Ravens’ 27-16 loss to Bengals in Week 18

The Baltimore Ravens weren’t able to get the job done against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in Week 18, losing 27-16. Baltimore trotted out third-string quarterback Anthony Brown Jr. due to the injuries to fellow signal callers Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley, and while the game was closer than some expected, the Ravens ended up on the losing end.

Brown completed 19-of-44 passes for 286 yards and two interceptions, while also losing a fumble after being sacked with under a minute to go in the second quarter. Running back Kenyan Drake led the way in carries after Gus Edwards left the game with a head injury, rushing 16 times for 60 yards and a score.

Defensively, Roquan Smith led the team in tackles with 16, while rookie outside linebacker David Ojabo secured his first sack and forced fumble of his NFL career. Fellow outside linebackers Justin Houston and Odafe Oweh combined for another sack, giving Houston a team-leading 9.5 sacks on the year.

Up next for Baltimore is another matchup with the Bengals in the Wild Card round, as they’ll travel back to Cincinnati to take on their division rival. There will be plenty of storylines to look forward to in their third matchup of the year, including if Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson can suit up for the contest after missing the last five-plus games with a knee injury that he suffered in Week 13.
