Instant analysis and grade for Titans trading A.J. Brown to Eagles

The good news is the Tennessee Titans drafted one of the best wide receivers in the entire draft in Arkansas’ Treylon Burks like many wanted, but the bad news is it cost them their first superstar wide receiver since Derrick Mason after they traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles for a first- (No. 18 overall) and third-round (No. 69 overall) pick.

Before I talk about Burks and give him his proper recognition in a separate article, I want to make one thing extremely clear: this trade is a slap in the face to every single Titans fan who has been waiting over a decade for a true franchise wide receiver.

The Titans not only shattered the hearts of their entire fanbase today, they are arguably leaving the day in a worse position than they started. Plus, they have now put an insane amount of pressure on their rookie receiver to replicate or surpass what Brown did for this team right away.

As much potential as Burks has, you cannot make a trade of this magnitude and then tell your fanbase with a straight face that you’re still trying to win it all in 2022.

This trade is beyond baffling and before I move on to the analysis and grade for the selection of Burks, I want to give a grade for this trade — and unsurprisingly, this receives a resoundingly failing grade.

Trade grade: F
