'Instagrammable' cafe and bar to open in former Newcastle Starbucks is set to be an influencer's dream

A new cafe and bar is set to open in the former Starbucks unit in Newcastle city centre with a picture-perfect interior.

Work is under way to transform the former Grainger Street coffee chain into a new venue called Bluebird Cafe in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend. The cafe will serve up a "Mediterranean style" menu of meat and cheese sharing platters, along with hot and cold food.

Cafe bosses, Sayturk Limited, have promised the venue will be a feast for the eyes with an Instagrammable interior that features bold colours, floral arches - and even special lighting so diners can take perfect photos. Sayturk Limited marketing director, George Goldspink, believes the venue will be a hit with influencers and Instagram fans.

"Bluebird is very Instagrammable," he said.

"It is very modern, very chic and very cool. It is the perfect place to take nice photos with friends [as] it is such a big thing to have good memories and good photographic memories.

"The venue is styled in a way that should make photos look absolutely amazing."

The venue, which spans two floors including a basement, will seat around 80 people. "There is nothing like Bluebird in Newcastle at the moment - it is a very London-style venue," George continued.

"The interior design is amazing. It is a hybrid of modern chic and a nod to what is classically cool. We have nice big hanging light bulbs which provide good down lighting for photos so all pictures should pop.

"People can expect to be able to take nice photos. It's all about making memories.

"It will be great for those who like to upload to Instagram and TikTok."

Bluebird Cafe, which hopes to open over the Bank Holiday weekend on June 2, says it will cater to "young professionals" who want to catch up with friends during the day or night

"It is a place where city centre professionals can pop in for a coffee and do some work or see some friends and enjoy some drinks," George added.

"It is the perfect venue to catch up with friends. Whatever time of day it is, you can pop in and there will always be something for you."

Bluebird Cafe is hiring around 13 members of staff including baristas, waiting staff and bar staff. Anyone interested in applying should email georgewgoldspink@sayturklimited.co.uk
