Inspiring Scots makeup artist with no arms becomes TikTok sensation from beauty tutorials

A Scots make-up artist has become a TikTok inspiration despite having no arms.

Brianne Surgeoner’s dexterity has impressed millions on the app as she uses her feet and stumps to masterfully apply eyeshadow, contouring and lashes.

The 21-year-old, from Paisley, was born with complex medical issues but hasn’t let them stop her becoming a model and influencer.

She came up with her make-up tutorial video when bored in hospital and said: “I couldn’t believe how quickly it blew up to over five million views, it was crazy.

“I suppose to most people it is amazing that I can create these looks with just my feet and stumps.”

Brianne lost both arms after developing amniotic band syndrome in the womb and has other conditions such as a clubbed foot and bent bones. She contends with functional neurological disorder, which stops brain signals and can mean she doesn’t feel pain.

Brianne’s only help is from her support dog Darcie, who can alert her to dips in blood sugar levels as she also suffers from hypoglycemia.

The sensation has 24,000 followers on social media (Katielee Arrowsmith SWNS)

Self-taught Brianne loves creating dramatic looks and even does mum Karin’s make-up for nights out.

She said: “At first I was pretty dreadful at it and I was choosing all the wrong shades. But now I’m pretty good. I use a mix between my stumps and my feet for the fiddly bits.”

Brianne has 24,000 followers as @briannetheamputee on social media. She is keen to pass her driving test and wants to become a full-time actor.

She has signed to a talent agency and already appeared in NHS adverts, Casualty and a modelling campaign.

She said: “Most people say I can do make-up better than them, even though they have two hands.”
