An "inspirational" Dublin man who suffered a serious spine injury has a long road ahead as he gets through rehabilitation.
John Daly, from Lusk, is currently in undergoing treatment in the National Centre's spinal unit after a horror accident back in September.
John was out in his tractor on a Friday morning when he found himself overturned in a ditch and had to be cut out of it by the Dublin Fire Brigade.
The much-loved dad was rushed to the Mater where he underwent emergency surgery, and has since been dependent on a wheelchair for mobility.
John's spinal injury means his lower limbs are week, and he's got sensory deficits too.
Last November he was admitted to the National Rehabilitation Centre in South Dublin and has been undergoing treatment since.
His son Michael says they're now trying to get him "home ready", as he can't go up a stairs and they'll need to get an extension so he can have a bedroom and place to wash.
Michael also says his adoring dad will need to go to a specialised gym three times a week as he continues his recovery - this has the family trying to organise transport for him when that comes about.
A fundraiser has been launched to try fund the house alterations, as well as a special vehicle so they can get him to his appointments.
If you'd like to support it you can find out at a GoFundMe set up for him here.
