As the nation continues to struggle with the cost-of-living crisis, supermarket food shortages and rocketing energy bills, the Tories escaped to the countryside for a lavish away-day.
Conservative MPs were invited to the five-star £400-a-night Fairmont Windsor park hotel to brainstorm how to save their seats at the next general election.
The large complex is on the edge of Windsor Great Park and is surrounded by 40 acres of green space and a lake.
It boasts a 251-bedroom hotel, a spa & wellness centre, seven restaurants and bars, tennis courts, an adventure playground, function and meeting rooms.
The trip may not have been all that fun for the Tories, with a fresh poll for campaign group 38 Degrees showing the Conservatives would win just 29% of the vote if an election were held tomorrow.
But here's a peek inside the keyhole at some of the luxurious perks - from £300 Caviar facial packages to seven-course tasting menus.
Rishi Sunak arrived that morning to welcome colleagues who turned up throughout the day often in Range Rovers with blacked out windows.
Those rolling in included cabinet ministers Home Secretary Suella Braverman, Education Secretary Gillian Keegan and Energy Secretary Grant Shapps.
Former PM Theresa May also showed her face, as well as long-standing MP Michael Fabricant.
A mixture of backbenchers piled onto coaches heading from central London to the countryside.
Disgraced MP Nadhim Zahawi - who Mr Sunak sacked as Tory Chairman at the end of January - was also spotted.
Boris Johnson skipped the trip - having decided not to make an appearance just hours after bashing Mr Sunak's new Brexit deal back in Westminster.
Spa & Wellness Centre
The Conservative Party booked out the entire hotel for their event, with the public unable to book rooms, the restaurant, or the spa.
Members of the hotel were only able to make bookings at its Spa & Wellness centre, where spa day collection packages can cost up to £350.
The spa offers a range of elaborate treatment and therapies collections, as well as a pool and relaxing circular sofa beds and loungers.
A Sandstone & Gold Collection, costing £300, includes a 60-minute Sandstone massage, followed by an "affluent" Liquid Gold and Caviar Facial.
The £350 Ayurveda Collection takes you on a "journey from hypnotherapy through to the Aquavibe treatment - a synergy of light, sound and vibration to ease feelings of anxiety", before a scalp and body massage.
In its signature rituals session, a "Maharani Detox Glow Heated Cocoon Ritual" is offered for £305. "This body beautifying treatment is ideal for anyone feeling fatigues or bloated to immediately feel lighter and brighter," the spa brochure says.
A sophisticated doctor-led wellness and aesthetic clinic, called the Facebible, is also available. It focuses on achieving bespoke, natural looking enhancement of the face, skin and body.
A series of Spa day packages includes the Gentle Essence Collection, the ProSleep Collection, the Aesthetics Collection and a Menopause Collection.
A Wellness Suite & Gym offers personal training, one-to-one pilates reformer, sports performance coaching and a 4D Full Body scan.
A hairdressing salon - overlooked by a picture of Queen Elizabeth - is also on offer.
It is unlikely any Tory MPs ventured down to the spa, or for a new haircut as they were being bombarded with meetings for most of the day.
Bedrooms and suites
For those Tories who did decide to stay the night, a range of luxury rooms were available.
Prices for the public range from around £400-£2,000 a night. Rooms on offer include luxury suites with balcony or garden views, 55-inch TVs, king-size beds and plush bathrobes.
"Furnished to a combination of natural stone and soft textures to create an elegant and sumptuous environment, each of the beautifully appointed bedrooms simply radiates luxury living," the hotel's website reads.
Its most luxurious room - the Royal Suite - is a whopping 2,230sq ft - at an undisclosed price. It includes a private cocktail bar, lounge and dining room as well as private spa area access.
Other bedrooms on offer include deluxe doubles with balcony or terraces, one-bedroom king terrace suites, and luxury corner bedroom suites.
The PM's spokesman yesterday confirmed Mr Sunak would be staying in Windsor.
Restaurants
Conservative MPs had a dinner with the PM, and both pre-dinner and after-dinner drinks until late.
The hotel boasts seven restaurants and bars. A traditional afternoon tea is available at the Orchid Tea Room, which is staffed by an expert Patisserie and Chocolatier team.
The décor and bespoke crockery are inspired by the owners of the previous mansion's collection of orchids from around the world.
Dinner at the hotel’s fine dining 1215 Restaurant can cost about £80 for three courses and one side - without alcohol - if chosen from the A La Carte menu.
There is also a seven-course tasting menu on offer for £95, which includes a BBQ Surrey Beef Fillet as its second plate, Sea Bream as its third and a Rhubarb Meringue for its sixth.
Named to honour the year the Magna Carta was signed in nearby Runnymede, 1215 is a British speciality dining restaurant.
It is set on the hotel's south lawn, overlooking its private terrace and manicured gardens.
The ingredients are selected by the chefs are locally grown by The Royal Farms, in the hotel's very own kitchen garden, or sources from specialists.
Tory MPs likely enjoyed the rest of the evening in many other seating areas dotted around for guests to relax at their leisure.
Meetings & Events
Set aside to one wing of the hotel are 15 elegantly designed meeting rooms.
The hotel advertises them as places to "stimulate thought, discussion and delight and mirror our ethos and commitment throughout the hotel towards wellness."
The Tories will have likely been in the spaces when they were given a grim polling presentation by Tory strategist Isaac Levido, as well as for sessions on data targeting and social media on how they can try and win a fifth consecutive election.
