Inside this week's London Standard

Guessing who is going to be in Donald Trump’s cabinet is becoming something of a social media parlour game. It doesn’t matter how outlandish the suggestions — the president-elect will always trump them.

Then there is the wider circle of trusted advisers, fixers and unofficial consultants who will play a part in building his new administration. The only thing that is guaranteed is the fact that some, maybe many, will not last the course, as Trump’s tolerance for failure, disagreements or mishaps is low to say the least.

In our cover story, William Cooper examines Trump’s inner circle, and identifies the people around him who are really going to matter.

Elsewhere we look at the problems with Harrods, take a front row seat for this season’s hit show (A Christmas Carol, since you asked), have an audience with superstar John Legend, grab some travel tips from Carlos Acosta and find out what Sophie Ellis-Bextor loves about London. Plus, of course, your weekly digest of all the cool things to do in the city this weekend.
