Inside the modest house in Greater Manchester which boasts beautiful countryside views

If you're looking for an escape to the countryside there are several areas on the outskirts of Greater Manchester with properties that boast idyllic surroundings.

Set in the quaint village of Diggle in Oldham, this four-bed house has just come on the market with Zoopla and despite its modest appearance, to the back it hides unrivalled rural views of rolling hills.

Situated on the moorlands of the Pennines, the village has fast become a sought after area with house prices going up 23 per cent in the last year alone. Diggle now has an average price of £465,900, and this detached property is selling for offers in region of £425,000.

From the outside the house looks fairly unassuming, but step inside and you're greeted with a modern family home which is surrounded by picturesque views.

The house has an upside-down style layout with the bedrooms on the ground floor and living areas on the top, designed to make the most out of the special scenery.

On entry into the house you are met with a modern kitchen to your left with panelling and wooden worktops, which gives direct access into the rear garden through bifold doors.

Down the hallway to the right is the first double bedroom, which is a generous size and boasts fitted wardrobe space.

At the top end of the hall is the open-plan living space which holds the best views from its large windows. A landscape window in the lounge means you can sit on the sofa and enjoy the peaceful views whilst relaxing with a cup of tea.

There is also a dining area which again has its own big window where you can appreciate your surroundings as you tuck into a meal. There is also a bathroom on this floor.

Downstairs to the ground floor are three good sized bedrooms, with the master boasting fitted wardrobes and the rear bedroom featuring French double doors leading out onto a balcony with one of the best spots to take in the countryside.

This floor is completed with the family bathroom which is contemporary in style.

The house has a front garden with a large driveway and a rear garden described as a 'sun trap' with perimeter hedging which gives it a nice private feel.

Estate agents Strike say: "This very well presented detached property is located on a sought-after road in the ever popular area of Diggle. The property sits in an idyllic location, close to a sought-after school currently in development, and enjoys absolutely stunning countryside views from the rear of the property.

"Externally the property is very impressive and has fantastic kerbside appeal, with ample off-road parking and a good-sized garden to the front of the property.

"Due to its location, 'move in' condition and of course its views, we expect a lot of interest in this property. Early viewings are advised."

The house is also chain-free which can result in a quicker sales process.
