Unboxing the Liberty Advent Calendar 2024
Getting us into the true spirit of the holiday season, the iconic advent calendar has stuck to tradition with this year's design. Following suit from previous years, the calendar is shaped to represent the iconic Liberty London storefront with beautifully decadent ink-based illustrations by artist Clym Evernden.
Celebrating a decade since the coveted advent calendar first launched in 2014, this year the brand has gone above and beyond with their generous stash of beauty goodies. You can only imagine our excitement at the arrival of this gem, so admittedly we couldn't wait until December to unbox each drawer. Inside, the numbered compartments reveal 18 full-sized products, plus 10 travel-sized buys, from some of the most luxurious and up-market brands.
Aside from featuring eight new brands, the calendar also debuts 15 all-new products, while many much-loved products also make a return for another year. Plus, you have a chance of winning five Golden Tickets, each worth £1,000, to spend at Liberty, adding yet another element of excitement into the mix.
The Beauty Team's top product picks
Much to our surprise, this year's calendar hosts multiple standout products that the beauty team reach for on a daily basis, including full-sized products from the likes of La Mer, Sunday Riley and Augustinus Bader - all in all, meaning you get you more bang for your buck!
Beauty Editor's pick
RRP: £70
Beauty Editor, Fiona McKim's attention was first grabbed by the full-sized Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment, which she describes as being: "Sunday Riley's most legendary product (and this brand isn't short of beauty icons)." As for how the product performs, Fiona says: "It's an ultra-effective exfoliator in a unique serum texture that makes an instant impact on skin texture and glow. I've been obsessed with this for years and like to apply it a couple of times a week in the run-up to a big event - no more than that, though, this stuff is powerful."
Beauty Writer's pick
RRP: £72
While this La Mer lip gloss comes with an eye-watering price tag, its formula certainly doesn't disappoint. Enriched with a myriad of moisturising ingredients, such as algae extract, shea butter, coconut oil and cucumber extract (plus the brand's Miracle Broth™), this lip gloss not only leaves your pout feeling nourished and hydrated but plumps them for a fuller appearance. Most notably, it doesn't boast that dreaded sticky feeling that attracts strands of your hair - a huge tick from me.
Beauty Editor's pick
RRP: £74 for 15ml
Augustinus Bader's The Rich Cream is another favourite product in Fiona's makeup bag, all thanks to its ultra hydrating and nourishing formula. Boasting a hefty price tag, she says: "You might be thinking, how effective can a face moisturiser really be? In the case of this particular cream, the answer is very." Fiona describes this moisturiser as the perfect candidate for the upcoming colder months, she says: "It has the most sumptuous texture, like a big hydrating hug for parched skin. It also contains the brand's TCF8 complex, a 20-strong cocktail of peptides, vitamins and other good things that boost skin health without being remotely aggressive. I wouldn't use this all year round on my combination skin but for autumn/winter it is the absolute business. Pure luxury."
When does the Liberty Advent Calendar go on sale?
Run, don't walk as the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2024 is officially available to buy now! If you're looking to invest in the highly sought-after advent calendar, you can snap one up for yourself online via Liberty's website or by visiting the landmark store on Regent Street, London.
Do Liberty advent calendars sell out?
One thing's for certain, the Liberty calendar is one of the most in-demand beauty advent calendars on the market thanks to its host of big name luxury brands. Its combined retail price is much higher than the calendar's actual price tag, making it all the more appealing to savvy shoppers. While we can't predict exactly how much stock the brand has, we can certainly say based on experience that these advent calendars won't be sticking around for long, so don't spend a while toying with the idea of adding one to your basket...
