Responsibility for the mood in every corner of Leeds United through the fortnight-long wait for football was top of the agenda in their Molineux dressing room. Javi Gracia has lifted the lid on what was said in the bowels of Saturday’s stadium ahead of the 4-2 thriller which played out.
Liam Cooper, Brenden Aaronson, Kristoffer Klaesson, Sonny Perkins, Darko Gyabi, Rasmus Kristensen, Weston McKennie, Wilfried Gnonto, Diogo Monteiro and Max Wober will be absent from Thorp Arch this week. They are all playing for their countries in various age groups.
Their absence and what would be left at the training ground in their stead formed the basis of a rallying cry from Gracia ahead of Saturday’s kick-off. The head coach spelt out the importance of those three points for the work which would come in the fortnight before their Arsenal trip.

“Now we have time to enjoy the win and, at the same time, we can prepare with more confidence, with a good atmosphere [for] the next game and, to be honest, the good atmosphere we have with good or not-so-good result,” said Gracia.
"It's true, with a good result, it helps you to work with more confidence and with more calm. My players now, some of them are going with the national teams and before the game we spoke about it.
“We want to enjoy the next week and to enjoy this week and the next as well, we need to get a good result and some of you are going to the national teams. Others will stay in the training centre trying to improve as well, but we needed this result and I want to say as well, to thank all the supporters because we felt their support during all the game and it was really special for us."
