Inside the Grade II-listed former riding school for sale

The ECHO has taken a look inside a historic period home for sale, which was once a riding school.

Grange Lane in Gateacre is a street of old and new, with modern new builds popping up to join detached homes from the 1960s and historic buildings from a century or more ago.

The three-bed former riding school for sale is one of the latter, with a mock Tudor frontage creating a stand-out property on the busy road. It was first converted into a family home in 1982.

The space has been lovingly restored, with a colourful, decorative tiled hallway providing a warm welcome for guests and contrasting against slate grey walls.

The interior is a touch more modern than its façade, and has been finished to a high standard. The living and dining space is in one large room which runs the length of the house and has stunning herringbone floors.

Style-wise, decoration has been kept neutral with a splash of pink statement furniture and houseplants that add a touch of greenery. The large square kitchen has also been updated, with charcoal cabinets and a breakfast bar to provide a further, more informal, dining space.

The current owners have ensured there's plenty of storage space in the historic home, with shaker-style built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom.

All bedrooms are a decent size and include exposed beams, adding to the home's historic charm. Completing the first floor is a modern four-piece family bathroom.

The garden is also deceivingly spacious, with a large lawned area and ample decking space with patio furniture. The side of the house benefits from off-road parking, as well as a garage.

The home is on the market for £400,000 with Venmore.
