Colonel Gaddafi was known for his brutal regime and lavish spending on weird luxury items.
Killed in 2011 by rebel forces, Gaddafi had a number of homes owned by him and his family, including one in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.
His daughter owned one city mansion complete with a golden statue of herself, along with a luxury bedroom and swimming pool.
Found in the family homes were strange items like a huge golden gun, a human skeleton model and jet ski.
Many items were looted as rebel forces took control of the country, with the colonel known for spending on expensive items - while his people lived in poverty and went hungry.
His private plane was also complete with silver interior.
The once-dubbed "Picasso of Middle East politics" was known for holding expensive parties and spending money on garish items draped in gold.
He was even said to have once been close to buying Manchester United.
Some reports said his son Mutassim would spend over £1million every month on parties and even the likes of Beyonce and Mariah Carey performed for him.
He seized power in a military coup and was initially considered intelligent and charismatic before he began to take a tight grip on power in Libya.
Gaddafi's reign of terror finally ended in bloody circumstances in 2011, as he was overthrown by fierce and vengeful rebels.
Part of the "Arab Spring" that swept across the Arab world, the Libyan uprising finally ended Gaddafi's dictatorship that had lasted from 1979 until 2011.
The Libyan leader met his end when he was captured by the rebels he had described as "cockroaches" and "rats", vowing to hunt them down.
He was found cowering in a drainage pipe in the coastal city of Sirte after an escape attempt alongside loyalists including his son failed when a NATO drone struck their convoy.
After he was caught while suffering from shrapnel wounds, Gaddafi was beaten and stabbed, before he was eventually shot in the head with a pistol.
It is not known if his body was brutalised mainly after his death or before.
A report by Human Rights Watch said: "Muammar Gaddafi was immediately set upon by Misrata fighters who wounded him with a bayonet in his buttocks, and then began pummeling him with kicks and blows.
By the time Muammar Gaddafi was loaded into an ambulance and transported to Misrata, his body appeared lifeless."
Libya is currently attempting to heal the wounds of civil war with a government of 'national unity'.
