Any house hunter trying to find a new home at the moment will likely be facing cost of living pressures due to rising household bills, therefore finding a property at a reasonably cheap price is a huge bonus. The average house price in Greater Manchester at the moment is £240,946, but on the more affordable end of the region's property market, homes are selling for much, much less.
If you are looking for a low-cost home, you are most likely to find one in the boroughs of Bolton and Wigan, where the average cost of a home is much cheaper. There are several homes up for grabs across these areas that are currently listed for sale on Rightmove with prices starting from £20,000.
The majority of these are doer-upper homes, which need a bit of work doing to them, but would make ideal properties for first-time buyers or buy-to-let buyers. Each of these homes are listed for online auction within the next month, so you'll need to act quick on the day of the bidding if you want to snap one up.

Here are the five cheapest houses on the market in Greater Manchester at the moment.
Each of these prices are guide prices, therefore this is not necessary the amount that the property will sell for but it is the minimum amount that the seller wants for the house.
Nicol Road, Wigan
£20,000
The cheapest house currently up for sale in the region is this terraced house in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.
The property has an entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor with two bedrooms upstairs. It also has both a front and rear garden.
Estate agents say the house requires modernising. It is to be sold at an online auction as lot 89 on Thursday, December 8.
Grove Street, Bolton
£30,000
This terraced property in Bolton is listed at a cheap price of £30,000, making it one of the most affordable homes in the region at the moment.
The house has three floors, with a cellar on the lower ground floor, a kitchen diner and living room on the ground floor and two bedrooms and one bathroom on the top floor.
There is off-street parking available and a garden at the rear.
The property will go to an online auction as lot 85 on Thursday, December 8.
Red Lane, Bolton
£40,000
A semi-detached property in Bolton is currently up for sale for £40,000. The property requires renovating and modernising but would make an ideal doer-upper home.
On the ground floor is an entrance hall, living room, dining room and kitchen, and up on the first floor are three bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate w/c.
Outside the house has a driveway and a garage for parking, as well as both a front and rear garden.
The property is to be sold at an online auction as lot 74 on Thursday, December 8.
Benton Street, Manchester
£45,000
Another house that is amongst the cheapest in Greater Manchester is a mid-terrace property in Moston, Manchester - but it needs a huge amount of work.
The house has been left derelict with many abandoned items therefore the buyer needs to be prepared to take on an extensive renovation internally and externally. Estate agents say it offers huge potential as a 'buy to let investment or to be renovated and re sold'.
Inside the property has a lounge, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, and a master bedroom, second bedroom and a bathroom upstairs. The house has previously had a single storey rear extension.
It is being sold by a traditional auction but the date of the auction has not been revealed.
Bombay Road, Wigan
£50,000
The most expensive home on the list, but still at an extremely cheap price, is this end terrace property in Wigan.
The home, which has a guide price of £50,000, has an entrance hall, kitchen and two reception rooms on the ground floor, and three bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs.
Outside the house has a front garden with off street parking as well as a rear garden.
The property, which requires renovating, is set to go to an auction on December 7.
