Fed-up residents have hit out over a number of problems in one of Nottinghamshire's newest housing estates.
People have spoken about a litany of issues about their houses at the Edwalton Fields development, built by Bovis Homes off the A606 Melton Road.
Unfinished roads, heavy on-site traffic and a blocked cut-through are some of the complaints, with homeowners stating they are not happy with how their neighbourhood is being run.
Edwalton Fields is part of a wider new development built on land bordered by the A52 near Sharphill Woods.
Several housebuilders have built swathes of houses - but some residents in Bovis Homes properties have complained.
Ellie Burnett, 44, lives on the estate with her husband and two children.
She said: "I've not been here for long, just over a month or so.
"One of my children is at Rushcliffe and the cut-through between our development and the school has been fenced off.
"It means they have to walk along Melton Road, which is always busy.
"We were also promised no site traffic before 9am which hasn't happened.
"There are unfinished roads, some residents have been there for years and the roads still aren't done.
"People's cars are getting wrecked. We are just feeling really fed-up with the lack of care and attention."
Sarah Potter, who lives in Sunflower Drive, said: "On one half of the road, the road surface has just not been completed.
"I've been on Sunflower Drive for three years now and still the road isn't suitable.
"I've tried to complain to them so many times - they are just ignoring me at this stage."
More properties are still being built at Edwalton Fields in and around the new Rosecliffe Spencer Academy school in Rose Way.
Other problems include a lack of road markings and speed signage at the site which is leading to people driving dangerously in the estate, which is home to many families.
Steve Shardlow, a resident on the estate, said: "Personally, my biggest gripe is the state of the road surface on Rose Way and the surrounding roads. Sunflower drive especially when you consider those houses were completed at least four years ago.
"I've contacted Bovis site team countless times and their standard answer is that they'll patch up the holes and ruts when tarmacking drives, but they never do. Lots of us have had cuts to tyres and grazed alloys due to the road.
"The mud on the roads is also crazy.
"Regarding the walkways, they've been on the wider plans since planning permission was granted to Bovis and Taylor Wimpey. In fact it was one of the good selling points for me."
Nottinghamshire Live was contacted by numerous residents on the estate, all raising issues with the neighbourhood and how Bovis Homes is running its part of the site.
A spokesperson for Bovis Homes said: "We have been working closely with Severn Trent Water and Nottinghamshire County Highways to complete road works and continue to work with the latter on agreed final stages over the coming months.
“We are also in communication with the school, as our second phase of the development completes and have requested that our suppliers note school opening and closing hours to reduce any traffic around those times. We have fenced off build areas as part of our health and safety procedure and while our approved plans do not include a connection point for those walking to and from the school, we are liaising with Rushcliffe Borough Council to ensure their continued safety.”
Some of the first Bovis Homes residents moved into their houses in 2019.
Land east and west of Melton Road was allocated in Rushcliffe Borough Council's local plan for around 1,500 homes as well as a community centre and other communal facilities.
Wildlife campaigners fought against plans to build homes near Sharphill Woods, saying other locations should be considered first.
The Conservative-run borough council, however, maintained it had to meet housing targets set by the Government.
An Aldi supermarket, McDonald's and Costa Coffee drive-through have also opened at a new nearby retail park next to the Wheatcroft Island, on land between the A52 and Landmere Lane.
