Inside row between Kate and Meghan over bridesmaid fitting that left Duchess of Sussex 'sobbing on the floor'

Prince Harry has revealed the exchange between Meghan Markle and his sister-in-law Kate over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress. The Duke of Sussex claims the incident was largely driven by Kate, who was angered at having to wait a day to hear back from Meghan about the 'offending' garment ahead of the 2018 royal wedding.

He further went on to claim in his book Spare that Meghan's suggestion of bringing the dress to a tailor on standby at Kensington Palace 'wasn't sufficient' and Kate insisted 'all the dresses need to be remade'. Ahead of the big day, Harry said Meghan was juggling issues with Charlotte's dress with the chaos surrounding her father, Thomas Markle - and eventually ended up 'sobbing on the floor', reports the Mirror.

Harry writes in his book, which came out at midnight in the UK after its premature release in Spain: "Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father.

"So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by." Harry writes that Meghan said the tailor was named Ajay and was at 'KP' which is Kensington Palace.

The reported exchange between Meghan and Kate, according to Prince Harry are...

Kate: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a home."

Meghan: "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?"

Kate: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."

Meghan: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day."

Kate: "Fine."

Harry also claims that Kate said she had discussed the issue with her 'own wedding designer' and they agreed. The Duke said juggling issues with Charlotte's dress with the chaos surrounding her father led to Meghan 'sobbing on the floor'.

It comes as royal sources say there is 'no trust left' between senior royals and the Duke after the release of his explosive memoir and a series of promotional interviews took aim at the royals. The royal family will not engage with Prince Harry’s catalogue of accusations for fear of private conversations being used against them.

The Duke of Sussex has offered his family a chance of reconciliation and the opportunity to open talks behind closed doors, but continued to make a series of hurtful claims about senior royals.
