Inside 'supercar graveyard' packed to the brim with expensive Ferraris and Lamborghinis

These pictures show the grounds of a ' supercar graveyard' that's packed to the brim with expensive vehicles from Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. You might think of these cars as out of this world, but to some, they are ordinary and are just left at the side of the road when they're no longer needed. In Dubai, it has been reported that you could earn £30,000 a year just locating abandoned supercars.

Each year in the country, around 3,000 pricey motors, including Aston Martins, Bentleys, and Mercedes are abandoned, due to the UAE's strict laws about debt payments, or because the owners are so wealthy they don't care about the older models. Then they end up in one of these 'graveyards', where they are stripped for parts - because Ferrari engines and headlights retain a lot of value.

What do you think about the supercars? Let us know in the comments...

Some of the cars have been crashed, but many in the pictures look to be in good condition - just a little dusty maybe.

Many are abandoned because the UAE have very strict laws regarding debt, and until recently you could be jailed for failing to repay a loan - so some with pricey cars bought on finance have no choice but to abandon them and flee the country when they run out of cash.

In Dubai, when a car is found abandoned, the authorities issue a notice to the owner via text message and if they do not respond with 15 days, the car is seized.

The motorist then has six months to pay a fine and collect their car from the impound, but if they miss that deadline the motor will be auctioned off.

Previously, luxury goods website HushHush.com advertised a job position for someone "to find and secure supercars abandoned by their owners ".

The job description said the "supercar scout" would have to travel too Dubai to find luxury and prestige cars that had been abandoned by their owners.

They offered travel expenses, accommodation and living costs while out there as well as an annual salary of £30,000 - alongside a percentage of any car sales that result too.

They said the desired applicant would have a good understanding of luxury cars and what they're worth, be able to negotiate, and track down contact details of the owner of the vehicle.

Aaron Harpin, HushHush.com founder said at the time: "This is a great opportunity for someone - and for us! It's amazing that so many incredibly luxurious cars are just being abandoned and we want to be able to capitalise on this and offer the very best to our customers.

"Also, given their rarity, many of these cars could potentially appreciate in value, therefore could be a great investment.

"We're hopeful that we will find someone with a passion for cars and the initiative to track down the finance companies and negotiate before cars are impounded by the authorities.

"This is a great opportunity - we've certainly never seen this type of job offered elsewhere and are excited to see the results.'
