Inside salt cave paradise that has customers feeling like 'they’re not in Balbriggan at all'

This is Balbriggan's Salt Cave Paradise - and it can transport customers to a different world of relief.

Salt Cave Paradise is a saltwater therapy and relaxation centre which provides relief to anyone with long Covid.

The Balbriggan business import their natural black salt all the way from Transylvania which has customers “feeling great”.

With both the salt in the water and the heat of the room, the salt caves provide relief to anyone with sleeping trouble, arthritis, infertility, hay fever, respiratory problems, skin conditions, and muscle pain.

Manager Kim Weldon told Dublin Live: “As soon as you walk by reception and into the cave you feel like you’re transported into Star Trek or something, it’s not like you’re in Balbriggan at all.

“It’s a salt water therapy centre, it’s really good for anyone who suffers from sinus or respiratory problems like asthma.

“It’s also good for anyone who suffers from skin conditions like eczema or dermatitis. It relieves muscle and joint pain too, it helps with the tissues. You’ve to do a few sessions to feel the benefits.

“It’s the fresh salt and also the heat of the water and the room too.

“It would help people with long Covid, we have people ringing who are getting over it or a really bad chest infection or cold. Even just after one session, they feel the breathing benefits.

“I would’ve previously said that it doesn’t help hay fever, but it actually does. I suffer from hay fever and I didn't get it as bad last summer.

"I think it’s because I was in the caves and working around them. I didn’t get it at all last summer, and I think it’s because I'm constantly around the salts and in the room.

“We don’t just advertise as a therapy centre, we also advertise for relaxation and distress. The vibe in the room, the lights and the music. Even if there’s nothing wrong with you, you come out feeling great.”

Salt Cave Paradise is an ideal place to wind down by yourself or with your pals.

And as of this weekend, it's now opening a family room making it a great escape for everyone.

Kim explained: “We get a lot of groups, it’s mainly groups of girls.

"It’s over 16’s in paradise, so we don’t have many family bookings but we’re opening a family room on Saturday this week. It’s open for children under 16.

“We’ve had one or two hen parties here too. It’s a great pre-wedding de-stress session. You can rent the room privately from us for a few hours and you can have up to 12 people in it for a private session.

“We’ve had a few party sessions too, you can have food and drinks in our lobby.”
