Inside RB Leipzig training as Rangers clash preparations get competitive in last minute Ibrox session

RB Leipzig appeared in relaxed mood ahead of their crunch Europa League clash with Rangers on Thursday.

But the game-faces were on show as Christopher Nkunku and co. get set to do battle at Ibrox.

The German side lead 1-0 from the first leg but know they will have work to do if they are to reach the Europa League final.

The atmosphere in the south of Glasgow will be as intense as anything the Saxony team have faced in their brief history.

They were permitted an early peak at Ibrox as Rangers allowed them to train in the famous stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

And while it was mostly all smiles as the visitors showed few signs of nerves, it was obvious Leipzig are not taking things lightly.

Full-back Benjamin Henrichs was seen pointing the finger at one unlucky teammate while Nkunku was a picture of concentration as he hopes to add to his impressive goal haul.

Leipzig emerged victorious in the home leg but preparations for the away leg haven't quite gone to plan since with defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend.

That saw them slump to fifth in the Bundesliga going into the final day - and means they may need the Europa League crown to go into next season's Champions League.

Speaking after that one, boss Tedesco said: “We played disembodied. If this base is missing, you can throw the tactics board in the trash can.

“We weren't at the races in the first half and didn't have any of the things that you need for a game like this. We're giving out too many gifts at an important stage of the season.

"Congratulations to Gladbach on the deserved win. We have to do our homework for the final two games of the season and win. The games will be tricky against difficult opposition, and we've also got games in other competitions. We'll give our all.”
