Princess Lilibet celebrates her second birthday today.
Celebrations will most likely be with her older brother Prince Archie and grandmother Doria.
Meghan Markle gave birth to Lilibet on June 4, 2021 - and she was named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Lilibet was born at 11.40am at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, California weighing 7lbs and 11oz.
Her father Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare about the moment she was born.
He wrote: "I wanted to say: Hello. I wanted to say: Where have you come from? I wanted to say: Is it better there? Is it peaceful? Are you frightened? Don’t be, don’t be, all will be well. I’ll keep you safe."
Here we look at some of Lilibet's milestones over the past two years.
First public image of her
The first photo of Lilibet was released in December 2021 - six months after she was born.
She was seen on the holiday card from the Sussex family.
In the card, the couple write: "This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.”
The adorable photo was taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at their home in California in the summer.
It shows Meghan proudly holding Lilibet with the tot smiling back joyfully at her mum.
Her first steps
Harry told People magazine in April 2022 that Lili had started to take her first steps.
The Duke of Sussex spoke to the magazine to talk about his children and the Invictus Games.
Discussing his daughter, he said: "Her current priorities are trying to keep up with her brother.
"She took her first step just a few days ago. Proud papa, here."
Meeting her grandfather
Lilibet met her grandfather face-to-face during the Platinum Jubilee last year.
The meeting between Lilibet and the then-Prince Charles was said to be "very emotional".
A senior royal source, at the briefing of Clarence House’s annual review, said it had been “wonderful” to have the Sussexes back in the UK at the start of June.
“It was fantastic to see them. It was wonderful to have them back in Britain,” the source said.
“He hadn’t met Lili, his granddaughter, and so to meet her was very emotional, a very, very wonderful thing.”
Lilibet meets her great-grandmother
On the same whirlwind trip, Lilibet met Queen Elizabeth II.
Lilibet is named after her as it was the former Queen's nickname.
The heartwarming meeting took place at Windsor Castle in the 48 hours after Harry and Meghan arrived back in the UK.
In Spare, Harry shared some heartwarming details of the sweet moment including how she latched onto the late Monarch's shins.
He said his grandmother described Archie and Lilibet as the "sweetest children".
He added: "She'd expected them to be a bit more…American, I think? Meaning, in her mind, more rambunctious.”
First birthday
During the same trip to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee, Lilibet celebrated her first birthday.
She celebrated on the grounds of Frogmore Cottage at Windsor on Saturday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited a number of close friends and family members to a low-key back garden picnic while attending the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
It is understood the relaxed event included all the usual features of a one-year-old's birthday - such as birthday cake, balloons, party face painting and games.
According to the Daily Mail, attendees reportedly included Zara and Mike Tindall's three children, Mia, eight, Lena, three, and Lucas, one, as well as Savannah, 11, and Isla, 10, daughters of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly.
Three-year-old Archie's godfather, Charlie Van Straubenzee, and his brother Tom, godfather to Princess Charlotte, were also invited, it is understood.
Lilibet's christening
Lilibet was christened in March in California, at her home in Montecito, California, with around 20 to 30 people in attendance for the celebration/
Among those at the intimate gathering were said to be Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, Lilibet's godfather Tyler Perry and an unnamed godmother.
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said: "I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor."
Lilibet's title
Harry and Meghan referred to Lilibet as Princess for the first time when they announced her christening.
A royal source told The Mirror: “As the Duke and Duchess have now confirmed this, the website will now be updated in due course.”
They confirmed the King has notified of Harry and Meghan’s intention to use the titles for their children, adding: “The appropriate conversations have taken place ahead of today’s news (of Lilibet’s christening).”
It was the first time Lili has been publicly referred to as Princess. She became entitled to become a princess when her grandfather King Charles acceded to the throne.
