Paul Antoine and Carina Mirabile have had a lot of ups and downs during the Married At First Sight (MAFS) experiment, prompting fans to wonder what will happen between the good-looking pair during final vows. Now, we know what went down and, boy, it’s a doozy.

When we first met Paul and Carina, they seemed perfect for each other. But it wasn’t long until we discovered that the pair had previously gone on a date before Paul ghosted her. With a heartfelt apology, he managed to gain her trust.
Although the pair seemed to fall head over heels for each other, Paul kept fucking up. One time, he punched a wall after finding out that Carina had once slept with a famous rapper, showing some seriously questionable and worrying behaviour. Another time, he told fellow MAFS bride Awhina information that Carina had told him in confidence. Finally, during the last week of the experiment, he decided to go on a date with the Plan B bride chosen by the experts.
Throughout it all, Carina stood by him, prompting fans to question what she’d do when they reached the final vows.
Now, thanks to some sneaky on-set reporting by Daily Mail Australia, we know what went down.
What happened during Paul and Carina’s final vows?
The pair were set to film their final vows in a gorgeous flower-filled garden in Sydney. Paul was dressed in a demure white suit while Carina was wearing a stunning beaded silver gown.
Paul appeared to be in high spirits as he read his vows.
According to production insiders, he spoke about the sweet moments they’d shared and how quickly they’d found the passion in their relationship. Although he admitted he’d made plenty of mistakes, he claimed he wanted to be a better man and move to Sydney for her after filming.
Carina went next and in true MAFS style, she began with the positive memories before her tone quickly shifted.
“You had me. I was yours. I gave you all of me. I showed you parts of myself I’d hidden for so long. I let you in… I let myself believe in you again,” she said, per Daily Mail Australia.
“But then… You made me feel small. You made me feel unsafe. You made me feel like I was not enough.
“When you punched the door because of something I said… when you exposed my private comments to Awhina and the group… when you went on that plan B date and said you were ‘just curious’… That was the moment I realised — you haven’t grown. You haven’t changed. You don’t deserve me.”
She concluded her powerful speech with a suckerpunch to Paul’s emotions.
“You’re going to have to live with that regret for the rest of your life. Goodbye, Paul,” she said. OOOFT.
On-set insiders revealed that Paul didn’t know what to do with the information.
“Paul froze. He stared at her, lips trembling, blinking rapidly as the truth of her words settled in. She cried. He cried,” reported the Daily Mail Australia, whose reporter was on set.
“They hugged it out briefly, and Paul clung to her like a man on the edge of a cliff, whispering something into her ear. Carina gently pushed him away.”
As Carina walked away, Paul broke down and sought out a bench to have some time alone before producers went to check on him.
Reportedly, the scenes between them were so distressing that insiders say not everything will make it to air.
