Inside Paloma Faith's wacky and colourful family townhouse she based on quirky style

Paloma Faith is known for her eccentric taste – so it’s no surprise this is reflected in the colourful but chic decor in her London home.

The 40-year-old Do You Want The Truth or Something Beautiful singer revealed she decorated the luxury townhouse all by herself.

While some items in the home she shares with boyfriend Leyman Lahcine and their two children are designer, a lot is sourced from vintage shops or eBay.

“Every room is a reflection of who I am,” Paloma told Architectural Digest. “I was completely determined to do it by myself. It’s all from my mind."

The mum-of-two added: “I went round all the most expensive stories I could to find what I actually wanted, then I tried to make it or find it cheaper somewhere else – which pretty much sums me up as a person.”

A self-confessed lover of vintage, bohemian and old school glamour, the singer recently launched her own interiors range called Paloma Home.

Here we take a sneak peek inside her fancy London townhouse which inspired her new collection.

Paloma styled her living room on a 1970s opium den and says she always has instruments in the house for when her musician pals stop by.

There is a white baby piano in the bay window with a vintage gramophone on top, as well as a record player on the sideboard for vinyl.

Guests can choose to sit in the Seventies rattan peacock chair or the hanging egg seat in the window.

There is also a bold leopard print sofa, which was originally cream pleather. She bought if off eBay and had it reupholstered in Ralph Lauren fabric.

The wallpaper is green chinoiserie, an art style inspired by Asian countries in the 18 th century which later became popular in France and the rest of Europe.

Pink fans will love Paloma’s kitchen, which she has styled in a mix of black and bubblegum pink.

There is a huge candy-coloured fridge, pink walls, black and gold kitchen furniture and white marble worktops.

The singer said it was important to her to have a kitchen that extends into the dining area – even though her cooking isn’t always the best.

She once gave Alan Carr and Adele food poisoning after rustling up a batch of lamb kebabs.

“I did buy the meat from a really good supermarket, which I won’t name but I’d love to sue,” she said at the time.

Other standout features in the house include the striking black and white striped hallway and staircase.

She said: “When I told people I was going to paint my entranceway black and white stripes, everyone thought I was insane. But I’m excited by that kind of high contrast.”

Paloma describes her vintage master bedroom with red leather bed and dark wallpaper as “Slutsvilla USA!”

While her chic bathroom features botanical wallpaper – the same one which is in the Beverly Hills Hotel – and a freestanding white bath with gold taps.

One of her favourite rooms in the house is the one which belongs to her eldest child – and is circus themed.

Paloma revealed she hired a woman she found on Pinterest to create the red top mural complete with elephants and lions.

“It’s the room I wish I was sleeping in,” she confessed.

There is even a gold freestanding bath in the window in the child’s bathing area, which is a fancier than most adult bathrooms.

But if Paloma were to think of her house as a body, she says her “wardrobe would be the heart”.

She loves clothes so much she has dedicated an entire room to storing them – and it’s a pink and white stripe dream.

There is a walk-in closet and island filled with her shoes, stage outfits and a selection of multi-coloured wigs and headdresses.

It’s a far cry from when she was “broke” and had to have four racks of elaborate costumes in the small room she rented as she was doing music, cabaret and working as a magician’s assistant.
