Inside 'normal' bungalow with unique interior

An unassuming detached bungalow with a quirky interior has gone on the market in an affluent Merseyside suburb.

The house is located on Wicks Lane in Formby, a stone's throw away from the coast. From the outside, the double fronted property looks like any other bungalow, but on entering its a symphony of colours and statement wallpaper which brings the space to life.

The home opens up with a T-shaped hallway and a large living area complete with a wrought iron spiral staircase leading to the eaves, which have been converted to provide additional space.

The owners are not shy of a splash of colour, with floral wallpaper contrasting against cool lime green walls, a teal cocktail chair and a deep green, built-in bay window seat. Mid-century furniture also gives the space a period feel.

By contrast, the galley kitchen is modern, with irregular shaped cabinets designed to save space lining the walls. The room gives way to a lime green conservatory, a bright space to take in the view of the sprawling grounds, as well as a separate diner.

The bungalow has three bedrooms, as well as another bedroom in an eaves conversion. The floor also has another WC and ample storage, and is accessed via the spiral staircase in the living room.

A detached garage completes the property, which is on the market with estate agents Stephanie Macnab for an asking price of £525,000.

Wicks Lane is just a short walk away from Formby's National Trust woodland and stunning beach. Houses have sold on the road for upwards of £450,000 over the last 12 months.

In Formby overall, property prices were up by 8% on the previous year. Detached properties were snapped up for an average of £546,934.
