Órfhlaith told Be: "We have been together over six and half years. We got engaged on February 13, 2021 in the Gortin Lakes, which is not far from where we live.
"We went out for a walk with our westie Molly when Conor dropped down on one knee and the rest is history."
She has told us all about their special day!
Tell us all about your wedding day!
Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish. It was a very relaxed day surrounded by our friends and family.
I had the amazing Emma Finlay, hair stylist, and Nadine McLauglin, makeup artist, who were with us on the morning of the wedding. Both Emma and Nadine are so talented and they helped me to relax on the morning.
We had so many vendors who were easy to work with. The guys at Lunny Imaging helped us to capture our big day on camera. Glendale were so accommodating with the travel arrangements and Ursula from Love Blossoms was so incredible to work with. I could not recommend them all highly enough.
Both Conor and I wanted to ensure everyone had an enjoyable day. We were blessed to have Fr O'Neill, my parish priest, and my cousin, Fr Brian Conway, celebrate our beautiful mass ceremony before heading to the Manor House Hotel. Andrea Begley and Patrick Slevin provided the music at the mass which was outstanding and set the tone for the rest of the day.
We danced the night away into the early hours of the morning. The day went in a blink and we would love to do it all again.
How did you begin planning?
It was difficult to fit planning a wedding around our busy lives. We do not have much spare time on our hands so the planning was on an ad-hoc basis, but we got there in the end.
How did you decide on your venue?
Our mass ceremony was St Colmcille's Chapel, Carrickmore. This is my local chapel which is very sentimental to me. Our evening reception was in the Manor House Hotel. The staff, in particular Una and John, were a pleasure to work with and the hotel looked magical with the Christmas decorations. All the staff were so pleasant to deal with.
Tell us all about your wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses and suits!
The suits were a simplistic black tie dickie bow which was chosen within seconds by the groom. The ladies don't get it as easy. The bridesmaids were my two sisters, I let them do the picking.
My maid of honour selected a champagne coloured full-length dress, they both looked fabulous. It is not easy for any bride to select the perfect dress, especially for a winter wedding but the bridal shop staff were on hand to help and I was so grateful for that.
What was the best part in the build up to your day?
In the week prior to our wedding we had many visitors to our family homes and many of our wedding guests travelled to Ireland to be with us for our day. We really appreciated the effort many people went to in order to join us on our special day. Both Conor and I are blessed to have so many supportive family members and friends. We were both overwhelmed by the kindness and well wishes we received from so many people in the build up to our big day.
What was the best moment of your day and other favourite parts?
There were many unforgettable moments throughout our day. Walking down the aisle surrounded by the people we both love was a moment to cherish. I will remember that feeling for the rest of my life - and the music made it extra special.
We had the honour of having our four nephews as part of the bridal party. They mean the world to both of us and they showed everyone how to party on the dancefloor.
We had some funny moments throughout our day, one being when the wedding ring wouldn't fit on the groom's finger - but we got there in the end.
I am usually the one doing all the talking, but my husband give a heartfelt speech before our meal. The speech was so special to me as it came from the heart. Unfortunately Conor's beloved mother Eileen has passed away. It was important to acknowledge the influence that his mother had throughout his life. We know that Eileen was with us in spirit and looking over us throughout the day.
In the evening reception we had lively entertainment the groom, father of the groom and Fr Colhoun. They all took to the microphone to sing a couple of songs. The Bleed'N Cowboys entertained us to the early hours of the morning. Those guys sure know how to get a crowd going.
What would you tell other bride and grooms to plan first & what are your top tips?
Enjoy the experience, it will all fly in so quickly. I would tell future brides and grooms to not get stressed over the minor details. Everything will fall into place. Soak it all up.
What were the hardest parts to plan? Did you come across any difficulties?
We found it difficult to plan around our busy schedules, but many of the vendors made the experience so easy for us both. As our wedding was after Christmas, it can be difficult to get fresh flowers but we were so lucky to have Ursula from Love Blossoms as our amazing florist. Ursula was a pleasure to work with and is so talented. We had our flowers sorted with no stress at all. We opted for luxury faux flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous.
Did you have a theme?
There was no theme at our wedding, we just wanted our guests to have an enjoyable day. We appreciated their company and the people who made the effort to join us.
Would you do anything different or wish there was anything you didn't worry about?
I honestly would not change a thing. When I looked around the room, I was thinking of many people who were no longer with us - but also that we will never have all of these people who are so special to us in the same room again. It really is the people you are surrounded by that make your day so memorable.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made our wedding day so unforgettable and we really appreciate all the good wishes and love shown towards us. It is a once in a lifetime experience we will never forget.
