Inside Love Island star Molly-Mae's adorable romance with childhood sweetheart who was her first love

Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague was in a relationship for three years before going on the show and meeting Tommy Fury.

The social media star, 19, is currently smitten with boxer Tommy after hooking up with him in the villa.

However, he's not her first love as Molly-Mae was previously in a long-term relationship.

She started dating Rory Shooter in 2013 when she was just 13 and they became childhood sweethearts.

Rory, who is a year older than Molly-Mae, went on to reveal how he had "pretended to be gay" when they first met in a bid to get close to the brainy blonde.

In a post on social media marking Molly-Mae's birthday, he wrote: "1 Year ago today when I first me this one.

"Pretended I was gay so I could stay round with the girls for her bday."

Their youthful friendship developed into an adorable romance, with the pair hanging out and even going on holiday together.

Another tweeted told Rory: "I love you so much and miss you can't wait to see you V soon xxx."

She also shared plenty of snaps from their time together, including shots from their date night at their school proms.

However, Molly-Mae insisted she was determined to keep her relationship out of the social media spotlight.

She tweeted: "Private relationships are so much better than ones plastered over every bit of social media."

They are believed to have been together until at least late 2017, when Molly-Mae started devoting herself more to beauty pageants, modelling and Instagram .

Rory went on to study business management at Nottingham Trent University, while Molly-Mae focused on her Instagram business.
