Pictures have been shared of former president Donald Trump and ex-wife Ivana's first mansion - a lavish home which the couple decked out in gold leaf.
The sprawling property was one of the couple's first homes when they splashed $4million on the Connecticut property in 1982.
The 9,773-square-foot Georgian Colonial pad boasts eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, as well as a host of luxury amenities – including an elegant gold leaf finish.
The future president was just 35 and Ivana, who died earlier this month, 33 when they purchased the home on 5.8 acres of a stunning peninsula in Greenwich, Connecticut, with stunning views of the Long Island Sound.
At the time of purchase, Ivana was remodelling the plaza hotel in Manhattan, which Donald would go on to purchase in the early 1980s.
Originally built in 1939 for Robert Hillas, president of the Superheater Company in New York City, the main house and guest house has a three-storey rotunda foyer with double-grand staircase, as well as formal rooms.
Much of the decor also mirrors that of the plaza including being “dripping in gold leaf” and featuring chandeliers and crown mouldings.
When the couple eventually divorced in 1992, Ivana won $14 million, the Greenwich mansion and an apartment in Trump Plaza in the property settlement.
She would later sell the mansion in 1998 for $15 million, and the mansion's new owners immediately began a renovation to tone down the business tycoon’s decor, adding tennis courts, an indoor lap pool, sauna and a 4,000-square-foot addition with guest suites.
The house – which was featured on TopTenRealEstateDeals.com – also includes a home theatre, putting green, multiple terraces and patios, and three fully-equipped staff apartments.
The mansion was most recently put on the market in 2018 by new owners for $45 million, later reduced to $38.5 million, and then taken off the market.
The Trumps were married from 1977 to 1992 and shared three children – Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric.
