Inside ITV chaos as This Morning and Loose Women taken off air due to bomb threat

There was chaos today as ITV pulled This Morning and Loose Women off air due to a bomb threat.

The Metropolitan Police responded to an incident nearby, as they closed Wood Lane and White City tube stations whilst they dealt with the security incident. It has since been resolved and investigations are ongoing.

The nearby area was evacuated as police dealt with the incident, with This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby appearing in a pre-recorded show where they tried out tree-hugging and spoke to Britain's dullest men.

Loose Women also aired a pre-recorded episode, which featured some of the show's biggest stars including Denise Welch, Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson and Stacey Solomon discuss their life before they joined the ITV show.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement after the security incident was resolved.

"At 11:14hrs on Thursday, March 10, police were called to reports of a security alert at Wood Lane, White City," a spokesperson for police said in a statement, "It was reported a suspicious item had been discovered. The area was evacuated as a precaution and White City and Wood Lane tube stations were temporarily closed.

"The incident was stood down shortly before 12:49hrs. An investigation is ongoing."

This Morning and Loose Women both issued a brief message on social media, as the pre-recorded shows aired.

"We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon," identical tweets posted on both social media accounts read.

Transport For London confirmed the two stations had been closed in a message on Twitter.

"White City and Wood Lane stations closed: While the police respond to a security alert outside the station," it read.

Fans of the two ITV shows were left puzzled when the show went off air with no explanation.

" @thismorning Erm… what happened? Was watching and looking forward to the gadget game and the show suddenly switched to a prerecorded set. Not even a comment in the ad break to explain," one person wrote online.

A second added: "@itvstudios please can you tell me what is going on, why are you showing pre recorded Loose Women and what happened to the end of This Morning."

"Wait what’s happened? #ThisMorning," a third Twitter user shared, with a fourth writing: "What happened to #ThisMorning."
