Inside Heaton restaurant Rebel's fine dining experience which is booked up months in advance

Following a tremendous start to the business with a fully booked first two weeks, Rebel, Heaton 's newest fine dining venue shows no sign of slowing down.

New customers will have to be patient to try the curated seven courses though, as tables are taken up months in advance.

The intimate 24 seat venue on Heaton Park Road has quickly established itself as a desirable and quirky spot that demands a visit. Heralding an adaptive approach, the constantly shifting variety of the seven-course menu is at the forefront of its operations.

A new addition to the restaurant is an eclectic collection of original artworks produced by head chef Lindsay Rushton's mum, Carol Taylor. The decorative designs heighten the cosy space inside Rebel, but more so they are also available for patrons to purchase.

Restaurant manager Rosie Oswin said, " We’re lucky enough to have some amazing art on the walls. A ll of the pieces are available to buy, which we thought was a really unique aspect of a restaurant, it kind of adds another dimension to it.

"You can come in, have some amazing food, and potentially go home with some incredible art."

Wanting to build further on the momentum, Rebel has also recently launched their chef's table. This intimate two-person seating brings you to the forefront of the seven-course dining experience, with your meal personally curated by the chefs.

Head chef Lindsay Rushton said of the new addition: " We’ve just decided to open up the chef’s table, so we’ve got an extra two covers now due to bookings going wild, so we’ve got an extra two covers each night. Myself and Mike (Rebel's sous chef), we bring out the food, we talk you through it and it’s just a great experience all around."

Asked how he feels about the success of Rebel, Lindsay said: "It's n ot what any of us expected though, obviously, what you’d hope for, but we were just incredibly amazed basically at how it's gone so far."

The team behind Rebel make a point of wanting as many people as possible to experience their venue, particularly others in the hospitality industry who may be working on the typically busy nights of the week.

Rosie explained: "In July we’re changing our opening hours slightly so we’ll be open on Monday and Tuesday. We thought this would be a really nice thing to do, it’s quite hard to get a nice dinner in Newcastle on a Monday night, so we thought it would be a really great opportunity for people who might not be able to eat out with us later in the week to come in and enjoy it."
