Haley and Hanna Cavinder have been inseparable since birth.
The twins played three years at Fresno State together, then moved together to the University of Miami for the 2022-23 NCAA women's basketball season. Then in April, after helping the Hurricanes reach the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 for the first time in school history, they retired from the sport, together.
But Haley is returning to the court on her own, after On3 reported on Oct. 13 that she will be entering the NCAA transfer portal with the hopes of joining a school for the 2024-25 season.

After her announcement, there was plenty of speculation on social media that money or business are the reasons for her return to the court. The speculation could be warranted given that On3's NIL valuation for her is at $930,000, putting her at third among all women's basketball players.
But the Cavinder Twins' agent Jeff Hoffman told TheStreet that this decision is purely about her desire to play basketball.
"This is about passion and sport and competing, and recognizing that that clock is finite," Hoffman said.
Hoffman said that on the business side for the Cavinder Twins, "nothing would be lost" given this decision of Haley.
The Cavinder Twins have entered heavily into the business sector. They've partnered with Jake Paul and his sports betting company, Betr, and juice brand, Seoul Juice.
One of their most highly-publicized partnerships is with WWE. The two were part of the wrestling promotions inaugural Name, Image, and Likeness, or NIL, program, began training at the company's Orlando HQ in July and even appeared on a few shows throughout the summer.
Hoffman confirmed with TheStreet that the twins' partnership with the WWE isn't going away.
"We're still in deep and heavy conversations with WWE. We were out the training facility a few months ago. We were discussing upcoming trainings," Hoffman said.
Haley's decision does complicate things — Hanna has officially graduated from the WWE NIL program, but Haley's return could change her status. But Hoffman said the opportunity to work with the WWE is still very much on the table and the details simply need to be "ironed out."

As for the decision on where to go, Hoffman wouldn't confirm any potential schools except for saying that the University of Miami is still on the table.
The twins reside together in Miami, which would make it an option if the two were to continue to stay together, but Hoffman said that proximity with Hanna — who Hoffman confirmed does not intend to return to basketball — isn't necessarily going to play a factor in Haley's decision.
Hoffman said that Haley wants to return to a team that wants to "win championships," and while she rose to fame through her massive social media accounts, she could certainly play a role on a contending team in the college ranks. She led the Hurricanes in scoring last season and averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 40.4% from three and 87.8% from the free-throw line.
Haley has just one year of eligibility left to finish her amateur basketball career, but Hoffman said he's talked "in length" with Haley about supporting women's basketball beyond the collegiate level. That could include as a player, personality, or even investor.
"I wouldn't take it off the table," Hoffman said about Cavinder's professional basketball pursuits. "I could see Haley having that opportunity present itself in a variety of different ways ... whether investment opportunities or actually being part of the team, all of those things are in front of us."
