This house is on the market for just £30k - but it's not for the faint hearted

You may think it would be impossible to find a cheap home whilst house prices are still sky-high, but luckily there are some bargains up for grabs across Greater Manchester.

A terraced house has just come on the market in Bolton and is it now the cheapest home you can buy in the region. Listed for sale on Zoopla on April 21, the two-bed property has a £30,000 price tag which is far cheaper than most homes these days.

Found in the town of Farnworth, which had an average house price of £158,957 over the last year, the house may be super cheap - but it isn't one for the faint hearted.

Pictures show the property has been left in a derelict state, so it would need a fair bit of work to transform it into a habitable home.

But, if you can look past the clutter and crumbling ceilings, this doer-upper would be perfect for anyone wanting to take on a big renovation project to live in, or as an investment opportunity.

The house itself is a fairly good size with three reception rooms and a kitchen on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs.

The location is also ideal with Farnworth town centre and the open spaces of Farnworth Central Park just a short walk away.

Moses Gate station and Farnworth station, where Northern Rail services run, are just over half a mile away and the M60 and M61 motorways are within easy reach.

For those with children, Queensbridge Primary School, which is Ofsted-rated 'Good', is also within walking distance.

Due to its current state, it is recommended that any interested buyers should go and view the house before it goes up for auction.

There will be an open house viewing every Thursday and Saturday between 11:45am and 12:15pm ahead of the auction on May 11. There is no need to register for the open viewing.

Auctioneer Allsop says: "If you cannot attend the viewing you are advised to view the images and any available virtual tour on our website before bidding."
