Inside Graham Norton's wedding - historic venue, celeb guests and tasty catering

Congratulations are in order for Graham Norton as the legendary presenter is now a newly married man.

The chat show host, 59, is said to have tied the knot in Ireland over the weekend at a breathtaking venue with his loved ones watching on.

The identity of the BBC favourite's new husband remains a mystery, as he continues to keep his partner out of the spotlight.

Graham celebrated his nuptials in his native west Cork with some 120 guests in attendance at the hush-hush bash.

The Irish star has so far kept tight-lipped about his recent happy news, but we take a look at what we know so far about the picturesque celebration of love.

Breathtaking venue

It's believed Graham and his new husband actually legally married prior to the shindigs over the weekend but celebrated their union with a blessing ceremony at Bantry House, before continuing the party at the presenter's home on Sunday.

According to the Irish Examiner, a local rector performed a blessing ceremony at the stunning venue.

Guests reportedly began arriving into Bantry House around lunchtime on Saturday, with the historic property closed to the public for "a private function", according to the venue's website.

Bantry House and Garden is a stately home situated on the Wild Atlantic Way overlooking Bantry Bay in the south west of Ireland.

The House has been home to the Whites family since 1739 and was opened to the public in 1946. The Estate is unique since it is still lived in and managed by a family while also being accessible to the public.

The family write on their website how the "original design of the garden which dates back to the second Earl of Bantry’s travels can still be seen today. He transformed the house and garden into a 'Palazzo' like those he had seen on the continent."

It's believed that anyone arriving at Bantry House and Garden donning heels were provided with helpful accessories for their shoes to prevent them sinking into the grass on the grounds.

After Saturday's celebrations at the historic venue, the newly weds returned to Graham's holiday home in Ahakista on Sunday, where the party continued inside marquees by the waterfront, according to locals speaking to the Irish Examiner.

Celebrity guests

The Graham Norton Show has seen numerous celebrities and icons sit on the star's famous red sofa over the years, so it's no surprise that Graham's intimate guest list saw a few famous faces make the cut for his wedding celebrations.

It's believed that Scottish singer Lulu - often Graham's co-star on RuPaul's Drag Race UK - belted out a few of her hit songs during Saturday's gathering, while drag sensation Panti Bliss, aka Rory O'Neill was on hand to DJ later in the evening.

The Irish Examiner also report TikTok stars Caide were also there to entertain the lucky guests invited to Graham and his new husband's wedding.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, Lulu, 73, could resist sharing a few clips of herself enjoying the stunning grounds of Bantry House and Garden.

"Well, here I am in Ireland," the Shout singer told her followers as she made her way around the scenic grounds.

Lulu praised the gorgeous views as she made her way to enjoy her breakfast al fresco, before treating her online fans to some clips of herself continuing to explore the gardens post-wedding.

Catering

As a dream wedding venue for many, Bantry House and Garden is more than prepared for happy couples looking to say 'I do' on their grounds.

Their website offers loved-up customers the chance to opt for "an elegant, traditional style sit down dinner" at a nearby hotel, or even go for a spit roast wood fire for their wedding breakfast.

For a snack later in the evening, Bantry House and Garden recommend a local vendor's "fresh woodfired pizzas straight out of his van" as the perfect dish to see your guests into the night's celebrations.

With his own successful wine company, Graham and his new husband could possibly have taken advantage of the venue's generous 'BYO' policy - which allows wedding parties to supply their own wine, prosecco and champagne for a small corkage fee of €6 per bottle.

Graham’s best-selling wines have been awarded over 200 accolades since launching in 2014, and the star has previously stated he would never put his name to something he didn't drink himself.

"For me, that's kind of the important thing that I'm able to put my name to these bottles of wine and go 'I know what's in that bottle and I think it's delicious'," Graham told Today FM earlier this month.

"I feel like I can say 'that is my wine' and I can stand by it."
