Officers arrived shortly after 1:00 am to the private residence in Pahoa, on Hawaii’s Big Island, and arrested the 29-year-old.

“Shortly after 1:00 am on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, a 29-year-old visitor from Vermont was arrested for second-degree assault after an incident at a residence in Pahoa,” a report from the HPD said.

“During the course of their investigation, police determined that the individual, later identified as Ezra Miller, became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut.

“The female victim refused treatment for her injury.”

The star has been under scrutiny for a number of recent arrests and may see the plug pulled on some future projects as a result of his behaviour.

So here's where their Hollywood career began and what looks likely to happen next:

Childhood

Ezra Matthew Miller, who identifies as they/them, was born in Wyckoff, New Jersey, on September 30, 1992.

They lived a normal childhood in the small town of just over 16,000 people, before they shot to stardom back in 2008 after landing a first feature film, Afterschool, which they followed by starring as the main character in We Need to Talk About Kevin in 2011.

They were also cast in the film adaption of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012, which earned over €40 million at the box office.

Their career was on the up and up, when in 2015, Miller co-starred in the drama The Stanford Prison Experiment and the comedy Trainwreck, before playing Credence Barebone/Aurelius Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts films Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2016.

Miller went on to hold this role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in 2018, and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore which was released this year.

They held a brief cameo role in the 2016 films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, before appearing as one of the leads in Justice League in 2017.

Their own standalone film is due to be released in 2023, in which Miller portrays another version of Flash from an alternate timeline.

Arrests

However, Miller has been in trouble with the law in recent years, and this latest arrest comes after they were charged with harassment and disorderly conduct at a karaoke bar last month.

Police reported that the actor had grabbed a microphone from a woman who was singing and lunged at a man playing darts.

The incident occurred after they reportedly entered a rage during a rendition of the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper ballad Shallow from the film A Star Is Born.

On March 30, Warner Bros. and DC executives opted to hold an emergency impromptu meeting to discuss Miller’s future with the studio following the earlier arrest.

According to Rolling Stone, the decision in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe.

The studio has yet to make a formal comment on his latest arrest.
