Inside David and Victoria Beckham's very modest £150,000 first home in Salford

David and Victoria Beckham haven't always lived in sprawling secluded mansions across the globe.

The couple's first home they shared together was situated in Salford – Hazlehurst Road, Worsley, to be precise.

In 1997, David and Victoria weren't married and were two years off of sharing any nuptials, but things were serious enough for them to shack up together in their Salford pad.

An unearthed clip has resurfaced, which shows a very youthful David giving fans a nosey into his very modest first home.

22-year-old David reportedly purchased directly from the developer for a mere £150,000 – a tiny amount when compared to David's net-worth of an estimated £334m.

In the ancient unearthed clip, David gave Sky Sports presenter Rob McCaffery a tour of his home, something that came as the footballing legend was only just breaking into the first-team fold at Manchester United.

David could be seen starting the tour of his home in his magnolia living room which boasted of matching cream sofas and contrasting dark curtains.

There were pictures on the wall in dark frames, and items strewn across the sofa.

After touring the living room, they swiftly moved into the kitchen where the Sky Sports presenter found a bag of Walker's Crisps, in cheese and onion flavour, with Victoria's picture printed on the front.

David then said: "It's sometimes embarrassing when you want a big bag of Walkers crisps and you go and get a big bag of Walkers crisps and it's got your girlfriend on the front."

The sports star's fridge was packed with Toffee Crisp chocolate bars, Muller Corner yogurts, strawberries and some champagne – the perfect diet for a budding footballer, apparently.

After looking through the cupboards in the kitchen and giggling over Victoria's snap on a bag of crisps, it was up to the master bedroom to give fans a glimpse inside his walk-in wardrobe.

A far cry from what we know of walk-in wardrobes today, and a huge contrast to the kind of closet he and his wife now have, David showed off a few rails and racks in the corner of his bedroom.

Back in 1997, a trainer collection of 15 pairs was pretty impressive, with the presenter even dubbing the collection which sat beneath a radiator, "massive."

The tour around the modest pad came shortly before the property was sold for £40,000 more than the reported price he bagged it for.

After selling the four-bedroom detached home for £190,000, the couple soon upgraded and moved into their £2.5million Beckingham Palace in Hertfordshire.

Speaking to Manchester Evening News in 2008, Victoria opened up about the couple's Salford home, explaining how she had "fond memories."

She said at the time: "When we were last in Manchester for the Spice Girls gig David and I drove back to that house in Hazelhurst Road to have a look.

"There are such fond memories for us - of the Trafford Centre and all that kind of thing.

"I know David misses Manchester as well and still keeps in touch with everyone."

It's been reported that the Manchester home owned previously by the footballing legend and Spice Girls superstar, last went on the market in 2014.

The Daily Star reported that it had an asking price of between £375,000 and £400,000 – a huge increase on what it was worth back in the late 1990s.

David and Victoria now own multiple homes all over the world, with their £31million Holland Park mansion in London being the main family home since 2013.

With a £6million Cotswold pad and £19million Miami apartment also owned by the couple – they often property hop and split their time between their impressive portfolio of homes.

We're not jealous at all. Honest.
