Colin Farrell is set to grace screens once again as he stars alongside Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Barry McKeoghan in Martin McDonagh's latest film, The Banshees of Inisherin.
The 46-year-old plays Pádraig, a simple man who is left utterly devastated and confused when friend Colm – played by Brendan Gleeson – dumps him for no apparent reason.
Film lovers have long awaited its release, with Farrell even tipped for an Oscar nomination for the role.
But just who is Colin Farrell away from the cameras?
Here is all we know about the world-renowned actor's private life.
Early years
Colin Farrell was born on May 31, 1976, in Dublin, to his parents, Rita and Eamon Farrell.
His father ran a health food shop and was a talented football player who played for Shamrock Rovers F.C.
Colin has an older brother, Eamon, and two sisters, Claudine, who became his personal assistant in later years and Catherine.
The star first found his love for acting after watching the sci-fi film 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.'
His brother encouraged him to join 'The Gaiety School of Acting' from where he dropped out after being chosen to act in 'Ballykissangel,' a 'BBC' television drama.
And so marked his rise to fame.
Relationships and marriage rumours
After cementing himself as one of Hollywood's greatest actors, Colin was inevitably linked to several women as interest grew around him.
He dated English actor Amelia Warner and the pair were rumoured to have tied the knot. However, Colin later dismissed the gossip, declaring that the ceremony was not legal.
He then dated British writer Emma Forrest for almost a year and was also linked to Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore.
Nowadays, Colin tends to keep his relationships away from the public eye, with his current girlfriend reported to be Kelly McNamara.
The pair are believed to have been dating on and off since 2017, with the latest report of the couple being together in 2021.
He rarely speaks about Kelly publicly, and they don't attend public events together.
In an interview with Ellen, he said: "My girlfriend she travels a lot as well with work, so often times we're two ships passing in the night, but we make sure to find a port that we can, you know, rendezvous at."
Children's health battles
Away from his successful movie career, Colin Farrell is a father of two.
The Dumbo and Alexander star welcomed his first son, James Padraig, in Los Angeles back in 2003 with American model Kim Bordenave.
Four years after his birth, Colin revealed that James was born with Angelman syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder with symptoms including intellectual and developmental disability, seizures, jerky movements and sleep disturbances.
Opening up about James, the 46-year-old said: "[I am] incredibly blessed to have him in my life" and told of his joy when James took his first steps.
Colin became a father for the second time in October 2009 when his second son, Henry Tadeusz, arrived into the world.
Henry's mother is Polish actress and Collin's Ondine co-star Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.
The pair split the following year, in mid-2010.
Net Worth
After starring in huge films such as The Gentlemen, In Burges, The Lobster and many more, it is estimated that Colin Farrell is worth a whopping €80 million.
