Inside Carol Vorderman's 'favourite' house with eight bedrooms and breathtaking views

Carol Vorderman loves the outdoors, and she is never happier than when she's back in her native Wales to make the most of what it has to offer.

The 62-year-old, who grew up in Prestatyn, recently took to Instagram to announce she had "gone home" for a month as she called the house she is staying in "my heaven". Carol said she was forgoing makeup while at "home" with her family for the next few weeks.

She also shared photos of the stunning eight-bedroom cottage she will be staying at, and has stayed at before.

Carol describes Hen Cymyran, in Anglesey, as her "favourite". She added: "Look at the view from the bedroom even. Never want to leave.

"It's pretty booked out but I think there are still some more weeks available this year. Dead jealous already of everyone who gets to live here xx"

The sprawling seaside home, which sleeps fifteen people, is poised on the edge of the sea to a backdrop of sand dunes, overlooking the water from most angles.

Its setting is described as "magical" and you reach the house by taking a long sandy track across the beach. There's also a private jetty with plenty of space to land, should you wish to arrive by helicopter.

Inside, the home boasts a huge dining area with a long cedar table, and floor to ceiling windows with views that reach out across one of the UK's most beautiful coastlines.

The kitchen is described as a "joy to work in" with a "sociable" design and a wood-fired pizza oven. There's also a balcony with a BBQ, and a hot tub on the terrace.

Steps down from there lead to the beach, so the sea is easily accessible should you fancy a dip, and a handy outdoor sofa is in place should you fancy an outdoor drink as the sun sets.

Each bedroom is spacious with its own modern and fresh furnishings, while the master bedroom is in a league of its own. Light cascades through massive windows with only water and sky visible through the great spyglass.

There are plenty of places to host and socialise, including the huge dining space with a large cedar table (Boltholes and Hideaways)

There is also plenty of space downstairs. An L-shaped sofa is the perfect place to sit and watch the waves crash through the walls of glass, and spot seals and even dolphins at the sea's edge.

With three living rooms, there is lots of room to spread out and relax.

While there, keen walkers can stride over the headlands, or you could cycle instead. And if you don't fancy getting some exercise, you can fish from the shore.

The local area is also said to be "awash with things to do", with Holyhead Mountain nearby, as well as Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn beaches, and the boutique shops and cosy pubs in Beaumaris. Snowdonia is also 30 minutes by car.

The cheapest available seven-night stay, at the time of publication, was from Monday, November 13, and priced at £3,445 for up to 15 people.
