Inside Alexandra Daddario's stylish yet practical nursery – her sage green hues and boucle accessories turn the space into a sanctuary

Alexandra Daddario.

Alexandra Daddario has quite the authority in regard to design – not everybody is asked to the face of Dior, after all. Most recently, her influence extended to the realm of nursery design, with expert Babylist at her side. Naturally, the result is as practical as it is chic – perfectly primed for the actress's first child.

'Here’s a glimpse of my little NYC nursery. Being a first-time mom, I needed EVERYTHING, and Babylist and their registry made curating such a special space so easy and seamless. I had fun, and it took the stress out of picking the best for baby,' Daddario shared via Instagram. 'Thank you so much to Babylist for helping me get everything I needed to be ready for baby!'

Staying true to quintessential New York City style, the nursery features design quirks that celebrate the urban zip code – including an exposed brick wall and tall windows overlooking the city. Despite its raw, industrial bones, however, Daddario has strategically used soothing sage green paint and boucle soft furnishings to bring warmth to her baby's first room.

Sage green has spent the last four years, particularly among designers' favorite hues – admired for its earthy, therapeutic qualities (and its versatility, known as a 'new neutral'). However, its power isn't set to waver in 2025, as Emma Mottram, a design expert at Laufen, shares. Mottram explains that sage green is similar to the hue seen on Daddario's nursery bookcase below.

'This soft, muted green brings a calming, natural aesthetic that seamlessly fits both contemporary and traditional designs,' Mottram says of the color trend that, she says, will shape how we design in 2025.

'Its soothing appeal and versatility make it an ideal choice for those looking to create a peaceful, stylish retreat. Sage Green's rise in popularity is largely due to its connection to nature. As homeowners increasingly prioritize wellness and the calming influence of natural elements, serene colors like Sage Green are gaining traction.'

Paint hues aside, Daddario introduced further warmth and interest with a rust-hued bouclé accent chair. Much like sage green, bouclé is certainly no new trend; however, this chosen colorway offers a fresh twist on the classic. 'Two to three years ago, it would have been difficult to find a boucle armchair or boucle sofa, but now they are in almost every store. The difference now, though, is that we’re moving away from white. Before, it was all about the ivory-white boucle. But colored boucle is going from strength to strength,' comments interior designer Kelly Collins.

The result? A contemporary twist on an already modern-day staple – primed to bring warmth to the urban nursery.

Daddario also created a registry that included all of her must-haves from the Babylist Shop, a curated set of expert-selected, real-parent-tested products. Her wishlist contains everything she hopes to use as a new mom (all of which are available here). We've listed some essentials from her list (alongside a chair inspired by that bouclé piece below).
