An urban explorer has found an abandoned hospital for war veterans, with padded walls, a blood-stained autopsy room and old teeth left to rot.
Gaby, 24, from the US, was looking online for facilities in the country to explore, and decided to visit the creepy hospital with her boyfriend, Sonny, also 24.
The exact location of the hospital has not been disclosed, but Gaby said it was used to treat war veterans and was abandoned “not fairly recently".
The pair were surprised to discover that the hospital had electricity through the building and spent time exploring the different floors.
They had a look around the psychiatric unit, X-ray unit, a long-term living facility and an acute stay floor.
Speaking to Jam Press, student Gaby said: “On the psychiatric unit, we found multiple padded rooms that were still completely intact and unvandalized.
“We also noticed features in each of the rooms for suicide prevention like slanted door handles, unbreakable mirrors and safety chairs that couldn't be used to harm either the patients or staff.
“When we entered the X-ray unit, we came across two huge and very new looking x ray machines.
“What was mainly fascinating throughout was that the location still had power on and had automatic doors that we could still operate.
“Once we entered the ground floor, we discovered the morgue and autopsy lab, which unfortunately had the autopsy table removed.
The room still had the examination lamp set up which they would use to illuminate the bodies of deceased patients while conducting autopsies.
“In this room we also discovered an assortment of teeth all over the floor, which we believed were fake but it is unclear how they were used by the technicians in charge of morgue operations.
“It’s always shocking to see such a large medical facility put to waste as well, and it really shows how wasteful we can be with infrastructure in the US.”
While the hospital was “a bit unkempt”, the facility was otherwise in a good state.
Gaby believes that some of the items she found, such as rubber bullet casings, training dummies and door markers for drills, indicate that the site was perhaps used as for police training.
The explorer shared clips of the hospital on her TikTok account, where she has an audience of 1.5 million followers.
In one post Gaby shared footage of the autopsy room, and dozens of viewers were stunned at the spooky discoveries including what appear to be blood stains and old teeth.
One person said: “The part that scares me the most is that the blood is fresh, it’s still red and hasn’t fully oxidised yet and turned brown.”
“Wow and you do this for a living? I would be scared something's watching me,” another user commented.
