Inside abandoned 'time capsule' McDonald's left eerily untouched since the 1980s

An urban explorer has shared footage taken inside an abandoned McDonald's, which has remained eerily untouched since it first closed its doors way back in the 1980s.

The video, posted last year, shows how the old counter, fridges, and shelves are all still in place - just as if Eighties-era customers might return at any moment for a burger and milkshake.

A retro drinks machine, long disused TV screens, and sweet pink and blue seating all add to the overall vintage feel - offering a glimpse at what a McDonald's branch would have looked like some 40 years ago.

This explorer, best known to online followers by the moniker, Triangle Of Mass, uncovered a range of fascinating treasures amid the dust, including a barely-used hot chocolate machine bearing the phrase 'Always fresh, always here'.

Triangle of Mass, who is based in the US, said: "Inside was insane just to think all that's left there over the years collecting dust. To think people used to work there and eat there and the memories shared here at this McDonald's once is just crazy to me!"

A number of his followers shared the explorer's amazement, and were left feeling pretty nostalgic at the sight of the "time capsule" restaurant, which offered them a rare glimpse at a now bygone era.

Many said they could remember the décor all too well, and the video provided a little jolt of nostalgia. Others admitted they preferred the look, and wished McDonald's had stuck to the same style.

One wistful person commented: "I remember when the dining area looked like that!"

Another gasped, "The little TVs! This is amazing I remember this", while a third remarked that the old-fashioned colour scheme put them in mind of "Taco Bell back then too".

A fourth individual wrote: "I love this, I wish some McDonald's and other fast-food chains would have stayed like this, it's so cool!"
