Inseparable dogs on hunt for forever home for Valentine's Day after months in shelter

Inseparable dogs are on the hunt for their forever home in time for Valentine’s Day.

Thelma and Louise, a pair of greyhound sisters, are both one years old and have been in the care of staff at the Dog’s trust West Calder Rehoming Centre since October last year.

They made their over to Scotland from Ireland - but not much else is known about their past.

But one thing for sure is that the cute pooches are completely inseparable from one another.

Like the majority of siblings, they both have their own different personality traits. Louise loves to run around and play, while Thelma prefers to chill and have a snooze next to her sister whenever she can.

After four months of life inside the rehoming centre, Thelma and Louise are now on the hunt for their ideal home to settle down in.

The Dog’s Trust say that they can live with children age 10 and over or with another dog at the property.

However, other cats and small animals are very much off limits due to their desire to chase.

The pair walk together well on a lead and are happy to wear a muzzle when they’re out and about.

Potential owners must have a secure garden available for them both to play in.

Susan Tonner, West Calder Rehoming Centre manager, said: “It was never in any doubt that Thelma and Louise had to be rehomed together as they are best friends. The super sweet girls are polite and friendly with everyone they meet, whether human or canine.

“The sisters’ confidence has blossomed since arriving at West Calder. They have become more adventurous, enjoying trips to the beach and showing their happy, playful natures.

"Whether playing with toys or snuggling up in a cosy bed for their afternoon nap, Thelma and Louise always stick together. They quickly form attachments to human friends too, making them very loving companions.”

Anyone interested in rehoming these stunning greyhounds can call West Calder Rehoming Centre on 01506 873459.
