An inquest has been opened after a 13-year-old girl died at her home in Nottingham. A coroner will examine the case of Florence Newson, who died at her home address in Mapperley on April 21.
Assistant coroner Amanda Bewley opened the inquest at Nottingham Council House on Friday, June 30, where she outlined only the basic details of the investigation. The girl, known as 'Flossy', was 13 years old and was identified to police officers by her parents shortly after her death.
A provisional post mortem has been carried out but Ms Bewley said a cause of death would be determined at a future hearing. "I would like to express my sincere condolences to the parents and younger sister of Flossy, and family, friends and all that loved her," she said.
The inquest will start on a date yet to be fixed.
