The new Azimut Grande Trideck features expansive living areas never seen before on a yacht this size. And thanks to its innovative layout, the 125-foot-long Grande Trideck not only offers four individual outdoor terraces including the sundeck, perfect for secluded sunbathing, the upper deck that features the main outdoor dining area, next, the new Sea View Terrace, floating just a few feet above the water, and down below, the full-height beach area. Furthermore, one additional benefit of the aft raised “mezzanine” deck is the creation a Private Patio at the entrance to the salon, perfect to enjoy a complete privacy.
In addition to a brand-new layout, the Grande Trideck also features Azimut’s second generation D2P_Displacement to Planing® hull, designed by P.L. AUSONIO Naval Architecture with Azimut-Benetti R&D. It reportedly combines the comfort of a displacement hull with the performance of a planing hull to improve fuel efficiency. As a result, the innovative hull design allows the yacht to reach high top speeds without needing particularly powerful engines or navigate in displacement mode with a remarkable range at a cost-effective speed.
And when the company compares this second generation D2P hull with the original, they found that the new Azimut Grande Trideck has the same fuel consumption at all speeds above 19 knots as much smaller yachts. And, at a cruising speed of 15 knots, the Trideck actually consumes 15% less. And when they compared the second generation D2P with a typical hard chine semi-planing hull the numbers were even more staggering. At displacement speeds, the increase in fuel efficiency exceeds 40%.
Another innovation is the sophisticated and ingenuous way to the electrical system allows an owner to enjoy time at the anchor in zero emission science. This is possible because on board systems are powered by dedicated lithium-ion battery packs in lieu of generators for up to 4 hours during the day and up to 8 hours at night, when the electrical power need of the yacht naturally decreases.
