A range of shelf-worthy products and innovations by the country's top researchers will be showcased during "PMUC Research For Thailand's Competitiveness 2023", which will take place at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Held for the first time by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness with the aim to reimagine the Thai economy and connect the world with research and innovation, the event will bring research and innovations that have been validated in a laboratory environment (TRL4) and ready for commercialisation.
The inventions are divided into eight funded research groups, covering high-value food, health and medicine, energy, chemicals and biomaterials, tourism and creative economy, digital platforms, circular economy and future mobility.
Also exhibited will be successfully commercialised innovations such as the E-nose (electronic nose) which can digitally analyse smells in an industrial setting, pesticide microbial detoxification enzymes, egg white vermicelli noodles for weight control, and bio-cosmeceuticals products with growth factors that can deeply nourish skin stem cells.
Other interesting inventions are test kits for diseases produced by medical centres and laboratories of seven medical schools in Thailand, faux rattan made from recycled plastic bags, prototype material handling robots, self-watering flower pots made from polyethylene waste, and memory booster tuna fish oil drinks.
The event will also feature business matching for entrepreneurs and researchers from all over the country who are ready to join hands and launch the next big thing.
There will be inspirational talks from nationally acclaimed CEOs and consultations on research funding proposals for different industries.
