TWO inmates accused of playing a role in an alleged ring supplying drugs with an estimated prison value of $250,000 to Cessnock Correctional Centre have been charged.
Detectives alleged the two men are members of the Alameddine Organised Crime Network.
A months-long investigation into drug supply using run or 'dial a dealer' phones across Sydney was launched in April 2023 under the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad.
During the investigation, detectives identified a syndicate running within a correctional centre at Cessnock.
Strike Force Detectives have since charged six people, four men and two women, for their alleged roles in the criminal syndicate.
All six remain before the courts.
Further investigations led detectives to arrest two men, aged 31 and 23, at a correctional facility in Silverwater on September 23.
The 31-year-old was charged with three counts of supplying a small quantity of prohibited drugs and participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.
The 23-year-old was charged with supplying a small quantity of prohibited drugs and participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.
Both men were refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
They were refused bail again and will appear before the same court on Thursday.
