Ink Master star Daniel Silva charged with murder of YouTuber Corey La Barrie

Daniel Silva has been charged with murder after internet star Corey La Barrie was killed in a car crash on his 25th birthday.

The Ink Master tattooist was allegedly behind the wheel of a 2020 McLaren 600LT sports car which collided with a tree on May 10 "at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control".

He has now been charged with the murder of the YouTube star, LA Police Department confirmed.

In a statement, officers said: "A 26-year-old man has been charged with killing the passenger in his McLaren sports car after crashing into a tree in Valley Village earlier this month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

"Daniel Joseph Silva of North Hollywood faces one count of murder."

Silva was arrested on May 12, two days after the crash on Huston Street.

Police said he tried to flee the scene but was stopped by a member of the public.

Both were taken to hospital but Corey, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash, succumbed to his injuries.

If convicted Silva faces a 15-year jail term.

Corey's death was announced in a touching tribute by his family, with his mum saying: "My heart breaks right now, on my sons 25 birthday today… The accident killed him instantly.

"No words can describe the sadness I feel in loosening a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief.

"I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair (sic)."
