For Wednesday’s contest against the Detroit Pistons, the Golden State Warriors will have a thin rotation with six players expected to miss the contest due to injury. Before the game tipped off, the Warriors provided injury updates for a group of players, including All-Stars Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins.
The Warriors also revealed injury updates for young players Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman.
Wiseman has missed the last two games due to a left ankle sprain while Kuminga has missed one contest with a right foot sprain. On Wednesday, the Warriors announced both Wiseman and Kuminga will be re-evaluated in a week.
With their re-evaluation coming in a week, Wiseman and Kuminga are slated to miss at least the final three games of Golden State’s homestand against the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.

Prior to their injuries, both Wiseman and Kuminga were playing a role in Steve Kerr’s rotation. Since being recalled from the G League, Wiseman played in seven consecutive games, averaging 7.4 points on 64.7% shooting from the field with 3.6 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game. During that span, Wiseman registered a new career-high in scoring with 30 points against the Brooklyn Nets.
Kuminga has been blossoming over Golden State’s recent stretch of games, playing 16 or more minutes in his last five games. The second year forward averaged 9.3 points on 48.8% shooting from the field with 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 24 minutes per contest over that stretch.
With a flurry of players out, Ty Jerome, Anthony Lamb and Patrick Baldwin Jr. will likely continue to play an expanded role off the bench for the Warriors.
The Warriors are set to host the Pistons at 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday night in San Francisco.
