Striker Taiwo Awoniyi’s return to full training has gone down a storm with Nottingham Forest fans - and with one of his teammates, in particular, too.
Emmanuel Dennis is delighted to see his fellow Nigerian back on the grass. Not least because it has provided the duo with a chance to renew an old friendly rivalry.
The pair are great friends, having known each other since they were young when their paths crossed on opposing teams in their homeland and with the national side. They then went on to spend a lot of time together when they played in Belgium.

Dennis says Awoniyi played a part in his summer move to the City Ground by messaging him. And he has enjoyed sharing a dressing room since, even if they do get some funny looks from the rest of the squad.
“We have a good relationship, everyone can see that,” said the former Watford forward. “He’s been my friend for a long time.
“It’s a good feeling that we’re playing together in the same team. It’s all love and we are pushing and supporting each other.
“He’s funny. We’re good friends. In Belgium, we used to go to each other’s places. We were just like lovebirds!
“I’m happy he’s back and has been training. I’ve been winding him up, saying, ‘it’s just a little cut, man, you’re taking forever to come back’. He’s back now, so that’s good.
“We always argue over who’s the fastest. I’m like, ‘bro, everyone sees I’m faster than you’. We had a race, I let him beat me. So we had another one today, and I won. He won the first one, I won this one.
“Me and him are just funny. In the dressing room they just look at us like we’re always talking and doing funny stuff. You have friends that you are not shy to do stuff with, you are not shy when you’re around them. It’s very nice to have that.”
