Injury Report: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins (adductor) cleared to return to practice, out vs. Sixers on Friday

With Stephen Curry already ruled out due to a shoulder injury, the Golden State Warriors will be missing another starter on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

After missing the last five games with an adductor strain, Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out for another contest on Friday against the Sixers.

Although he won’t be on the court for their road game in Philadelphia, the Warriors received positive news regarding Wiggins’ injury status. The All-Star forward has been cleared to return to practice with the team.

Via @WarriorsPR on Twitter:

Wiggins is averaging 19.1 points on 51.1% shooting from the field with 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.

Prior to his injury, Wiggins registered his season-high against the Houston Rockets with 36 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field with eight made triples in a blowout win for the Warriors.

During Wiggins’ five-game absence, Jordan Poole has entered the starting lineup for the Warriors. Golden State will have to get creative with their depth with both Curry and Wiggins dealing with injuries. Players like Donte DiVincenzo, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and rookie Ryan Rollins could be in line for a more significant role for the remainder of Golden State’s road swing.

The Warriors are slated to tip off against the Sixers at 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday evening in Philadelphia.
