Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist two women who suffered injuries while walking in the Brecon Beacons yesterday In the first incident, a woman suffered a lower leg injury while walking on the peaks above Ogmore Vale.
Western Beacons Mountain Recue Team responded to the emergency call on Monday afternoon with two vehicles and personnel from the neighbouring Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. On route, it was noticed that a rescue team was already in the Brecon Beacons and this team rushed to the scene.
A rescue helicopter from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency arrived in the air above the woman as the team arrived at the scene, and the woman was evacuated onboard the aircraft for transfer to hospital. Western Beacons Mountain Recue Team said: "We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."

The team from Central Beacons Mountain Rescue was just starting its journey home when it was called to assist the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team with the rescue of a female walker who had sustained a suspected lower leg fracture on the south side of Cribyn mountain.
The teams worked together to provide pain relief before evacuating the woman on a stretcher to a control vehicle and an ambulance for her onward journey to hospital. Central Beacons Mountain Recue Team said: "We wish both casualties a full and speedy recovery."
