An injured woman was airlifted to hospital following an incident on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.
We told how emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 2.55pm on Monday, March 28.
Information received from the Coastguard had initially suggested that the injured person was a man, however police have now confirmed it was a 57-year-old woman.
The injured lady was winched from the hill and airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Her condition is not yet known.
Witnesses reported that those in attendance appeared to be rescuing a few people that have fallen while walking up the hill.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a report of a 57-year-old woman having been injured on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh around 2.55pm on Monday, March 28, 2022.
"The woman has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment."
A Coastguard spokesperson said: "The Coastguard helicopter from Prestwick has been assisting the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with an incident on Arthur’s Seat.
"I can confirm that the helicopter winched one woman from the hill and transported him to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary."
