Star Diamonds defender Joanna Weston has been ruled out of the netball quad series in South Africa with a calf injury.
The Australians will take on South Africa, England and New Zealand in four-team tournament in Cape Town later this month in a warm-up to the Netball World Cup in July-August at the same venue.
Sunshine Coast Lightning defender Tara Hinchliffe has been elevated to the Diamonds 2022/23 squad and included in the tour squad of 14 athletes as Weston's replacement.
"Joanna has a minor calf injury and will continue her rehab back in Melbourne," Diamonds coach Stacey Marinkovich said in a statement.
"Tara has been included in the squad after taking opportunities with the Australian Development Squad and last year's Fast5 Netball World Series team.
"Tara is a versatile defender, and she will add coverage across the goal keeper and goal defence positions."
The quad series will run from January 22 to 26.
