Manchester United prospect Teden Mengi has returned to Carrington after recently suffering an injury while on loan at Birmingham City.
The 19-year-old is experiencing another issue with a recurring hamstring injury so has been sent back to his parent club for treatment. The centre-half was signed by Birmingham on loan until the end of the season and since made nine appearances.
But last month the youngster was once again forced off against Middlesbrough with the problem just after the half-hour mark. Mengi was afterwards ruled out for up to six weeks with the latest setback.

Mengi was making his first appearance for more than a month against Boro after being sidelined with his hamstring issue following a 3-0 win over Luton. He had come off early feeling his leg against Bournemouth in the game prior.
Speaking to Birmingham Live , Lee Bowyer confirmed the England Under-20 international was now back at United. He said: "Teds (Mengi) is back with Man U. Since he's done his injury he's been back with Man U and is getting treatment there."
Mengi has played twice for the United first team. He came on at left-back for the last 30 minutes of the club’s final Champions League group stage game against Young Boys.
He had previously made his senior debut as a late substitute in a 2-1 win over Austrian outfit LASK in the Europa League Last 16 in May 2020. This was the season Mengi had hoped to kick on in his senior career.
But the teenager has only managed to win two of the nine Birmingham games he’s played, keeping a clean sheet just once for the Championship strugglers. His latest setback will come as a bitter blow for Mengi, who has been tipped to have a successful career in the senior game.
